  2. Compression: The absorbed heat turns the refrigerant into a vapor, which then passes through a compressor. The compressor increases the temperature and pressure of the vapor, turning it into a high-temperature gas.
  3. Heat Transfer: This hot gas flows through a heat exchanger in the outdoor unit. This then transfers the heat gained from the hot gas into the water used within your central heating system.
  4. Recycling: The refrigerant then returns to a liquid state once the heat has been used and is sent back to the evaporator coil to begin the process again.
